Step into the world of canine companionship with “Intro to Canines Series,” a specialized class tailored for 4-H youth and their four-legged friends. This program blends essential obedience training with the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, offering a comprehensive approach to building a strong, respectful relationship between youths and their dogs.
Class Goals:

Obedience Training: Develop foundational skills that ensure your dog responds reliably. Key commands include Sit, Stay, Come, Down, and Heel. Training focuses on positive reinforcement techniques to create a respectful and responsive canine partner.

Canine Good Citizen Preparation: Equip your dog with the skills needed for the Canine Good Citizen certification, which recognizes dogs who exhibit good manners and obedience in everyday situations. The course covers:
- Greeting a Stranger
- Sitting Calmly for Petting
- Proper Appearance and Grooming
- Loose Leash Walking
- Navigating Crowded Areas
- Commands to Sit and Stay
- Reliable Recall (Coming When Called)
- Reaction to Distractions
- Brief Supervised Separation
