In this meeting youth will learn the basics from how to put on a bee suit, use a hive tool and a smoker to all about the components of a nucleous (nuc for short) The queen, workers and drones. Learn how to identify honey vs brood and pollen. Learn how to properly check the health of a hive - enough bees, good laying patterns, etc. While half the group works with our nucs hands on. The other can tour our extraction building and learn bout the process of extracting honey. ***Youth will be working with honeybees hands on LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE YOUTH MUST BE REGISTERED |
